Thanks to a generous grant in 2005 from the Tasmanian Community Fund, UnitingCare Family Services has been able to provide an Early Childhood Play Teacher who has had the fantastic 'job' of structuring a program of play and learning.
The aim has been to assist families to rediscover the joy of play together with their children, and for the child to enjoy the opportunity to enhance their relationship with their parent(s).
We have created a child-safe, fun and stimulating environment for families to enjoy.
We are excited to have that our Family Support Workers are now able to encourage the joy of play within their mainstream parenting sessions, and that our former Play Teacher, Bec McHenry, has left us with a great playroom and lots of challenging toys to help us facilitate this role.
